SMVDU Research Scholar Ms. Kritika Sharma awarded Best Poster Award at International Conference (ICABSB-2025) at IIT Roorkee

Ms. Kritika Sharma, Ph.D. Scholar, School of Biotechnology, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), participated in the International Conference on Advances in Biotechnology, Bioprocessing and Structural Biology (ICABSB-2025) held at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee from 11–14 December 2025. The conference was jointly organized by IIT Roorkee and the Biotech Research Society of India (BRSI) and served as a major international platform for deliberations on emerging trends in biotechnology.

The conference witnessed extensive national and international participation, bringing together scientists, academicians, and researchers from diverse domains of biotechnology. The scientific program included approximately 300 poster presentations and nearly 200 rapid oral presentations, highlighting the scale and competitiveness of the event.

During the conference, Ms. Kritika Sharma presented a research poster titled “Exploring the Role of Stress and Vaginal Microbiome in Female Infertility: Insights from Women in Jammu & Kashmir.” Her work focuses on understanding the interplay between psychological stress and vaginal microbial composition in women experiencing infertility, with region-specific insights from Jammu & Kashmir. The poster was highly appreciated for its originality, interdisciplinary approach, and relevance to women’s reproductive health, earning her the Best Poster Presentation Award at ICABSB-2025.

This achievement reflects the strengthening research culture at the School of Biotechnology, SMVDU, and the university’s commitment to promoting quality research and academic excellence. Ms. Kritika Sharma gratefully acknowledges the guidance and mentorship of her research supervisor, Dr. Indu Bhushan, whose support has been instrumental throughout the research journey.
