SMVDU Organizes One-Day Workshop on “Robo Intellect: AI-Powered Robotics for the Next Generation”

Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) organized a one-day workshop titled “Robo Intellect: AI-Powered Robotics for the Next Generation”, bringing together experts, faculty, and students to explore emerging trends in robotics and artificial intelligence. The workshop featured distinguished speakers Dr. Sahil Kalra and Dr. Harkeerat Kaur from IIT Jammu, who delivered insightful sessions on the integration of AI in modern robotic systems and the future technological landscape.

The event was graced by Dr. Kumud Ranjan Jha, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, who highlighted the university’s commitment to promoting research and skill development. Dr. Yatheshth Anand, Head, School of Mechanical Engineering, delivered the welcome address, setting the tone for the workshop. Dr. Sunanda, Head, School of Computer Science and Engineering shared valuable insights on the importance of such capacity-building programmes in preparing students for the rapidly evolving technological world. The vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Sakshi Arora, who acknowledged the efforts of all contributors and participants from different domains such as students from Robotics and AI, Computer Science Engineering, Mathematics and Computing and Design your degree programme.

The event was jointly coordinated by the School of Mechanical Engineering and School of Computer Science and Engineering, with Dr. Sonika Gupta, Dr. Mir Irfan Ul Haq, Dr. Ankush Raina, and Dr. Amit Sinha serving as the coordinators. Their efforts ensured the successful execution of the workshop. The initiative received warm appreciation from the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, SMVDU, Prof. Pragati Kumar, who commended the collaborative spirit of the organizing team and emphasized the need for more such academic engagements to nurture innovation and research excellence.
