SMVDU Organizes Mega Event under Viksit Bharat@2047 Yuva Connect Programme

As a part of the nationwide initiative Viksit Bharat@2047 Yuva Connect Programme, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) successfully organized a Mega Event featuring a Debate Competition, Poster Making Competition, and Cultural Performances. The event aimed to foster awareness, creativity, and dialogue among the youth on issues of national development, social responsibility, and substance abuse prevention. The event was coordinated by Dr. Varun Dutta and Dr. Rajiv Kumar, the university coordinators of the Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Programme.

Sh. Baldev Raj Sharma, Hon’ble Member of the Legislative Assembly, Jammu and Kashmir, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, inspiring students with his motivating words on the role of youth in shaping a developed India. Prof. Pragati Kumar, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, SMVDU, also addressed the gathering and encouraged students to actively engage in nation-building activities through creative and intellectual contributions.

As part of the day’s events, an Awareness Rally on the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan was also carried out by students to spread awareness against drug abuse and promote a healthy, addiction-free society. Students from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi College of Nursing and Government High School, Sirah also actively participated in the competitions, cultural event and the awareness rally, contributing to the spirit of inclusivity and community outreach.

The event was attended by Sh. Ajay Sharma, JKAS, Registrar, SMVDU; Sh. Neeraj Gupta, SMVDU; Prof. R.K. Mishra, Dean of Students Welfare; Prof. Balbir Singh, Dean Academic Affairs; Dr. Sunil Kumar Wanchoo, Dean, Faculty of Sciences, along with faculty and staff members.
