SMVDU Organizes Guest Lecture on Health Awareness Among Students

The School of Economics, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), organized an insightful Guest Lecture on “Health Awareness among Students”. The session aimed to sensitize students about the importance of maintaining physical and mental well-being in today’s demanding lifestyle. The resource person, Dr. Brijmohan Patel, Senior Resident, Department of Medicine, AIIMS Jammu, delivered an interactive and informative talk covering key aspects of stress management, quality sleep, balanced diet and nutrition, and prevention of infections. Drawing from his clinical experience, Dr. Patel emphasized the need for students to prioritize health and adopt sustainable habits for a balanced life. His discussion of real-life case studies added depth and practical relevance to the session. The event was chaired by Prof. Ashutosh Vashisth, Dean, Faculty of Management, and convened by Dr. Roop Lal Sharma, Head, School of Economics. Ms. Deepika Malik, Assistant Professor, School of Economics, coordinated the event. The event also acknowledged the leadership of the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Pragati Kumar.The lecture witnessed enthusiastic participation from students who actively engaged with the speaker and asked thought-provoking questions related to stress, sleep, and nutrition. The interactive nature of the session made it both educational and inspiring. The event concluded with a vote of thanks expressing gratitude to the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Pragati Kumar, Dean Prof. Ashutosh Vashisth, Head of Department Dr. Roop Lal Sharma, and the DQA team for their continuous guidance and support.The initiative was well-received by both students and faculty members, marking it as a valuable step towards fostering health consciousness within the university community.
