Mr. Vikas Taak, M.Sc. – DBT Supported Program student from the School of Biotechnology at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, participated in the prestigious International Conference on Recent Advances in Plant and Environmental Sciences, organized at Guru Nanak Dev University on 25th August 2025.
The Conference brought together eminent scientists, researchers, and academicians from across the country to deliberate on recent developments in plant sciences, biotechnology, and environmental sustainability. Mr. Taak actively engaged in technical sessions and academic discussions, gaining valuable insights into emerging research trends and innovative methodologies in the field of plant and environmental sciences. He also had the opportunity to collect samples for his on-going research work from various locations of Amritsar City.
Mr. Taak is currently pursuing his M.Sc. dissertation research at SMVDU under the guidance of Prof. Ratna Chandra. His research work is aligned with contemporary advancements in biotechnology and aims to contribute to sustainable scientific development.
He expressed his sincere gratitude to his supervisors, Prof. Ratna Chandra and Prof. Sharada M. Potukuchi, for their continuous mentorship and encouragement. He also acknowledged the support and motivation extended by the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Pragati Kumar, for providing opportunities to students to participate in national and international academic forums.
