SMVDU: SMVDU, Katra organized ANRF, DST Sponsored Two Days National Workshop 

Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) , Department of Science and Technology (DST) Government of India Sponsored Two Days National Workshop on Low and Medium Temperature Waste Heat Recovery in Process Heat Applications on 06 th and 07th Feb 2025 organised by School of Mechanical Engineering, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University.

Prof. T Srinivas, Head Mechanical Engineering Department, NIT Jalandhar was the chief guest during the inaugural ceremony and delivered talk on ploy generation and waste heat recovery in process heat applications. Prof Durai Pabhakaran from IIT Jammu delivered talk newer materials for energy storage. Dr. Satya Shekar and Dr. Anup Shukla from IIT Jammu has delivered on Cogeneration System and Heating ventilation and Air-conditioning System Respectively. Dr Sanjeev Anand from SMVDU delivered talk on Wast Heat Recovery in Boilers for Process Heat. Dr.Ravi Kumar from IIT Delhi has delivered talk on Medium Temperature Waste Heat Recovery System. 30 participants actively attended and interacted with resource person for their further work and know the state of art in the technology. It helps to establish their academic network for their future.

In the inaugural function; Dr. Yathesth Anand, Head, School of Mechanical Engineering presented his welcome note and followed by the note of about the workshop by the coordinator, Prof R K Mishra Dean Student Welfare presence has enriched the inaugural  function. Prof. Balbir Singh, Dean (AA) presented his special address and enlighten about the global energy landscape transformation, climate change and natural resources depletion, the urgency for sustainable energy solutions. The choices we make today will determine the quality of life for future generations.

Prof K R Jha, Dean Faculty of Engineering presented the presidential address and highlighted the urgent need for clean and affordable energy to combat climate change and ensure energy security. Waste heat recovery system and at low and medium temperature an opportunity for economic growth, job creation, and technological innovation. The address emphasizes the importance of collaboration between governments, businesses, and communities in accelerating the transition to renewables.

Prof . Eswaramoorthy Muthusamy and Dr. Rajiv Kumar coordinated the event with support of Dr Amit Kumar Sinha, Organising Secretary has delivered the sincere thanks to the all the resource persons and participants, funding support from ANRF administrative support from Prof. Pragati Kumar, Vice Chancellor for his constant encouragement.
