Dr. Rahul Sharma presented the research paper in International Conference on Sustainable Materials and Infrastructure organised by Centre for Strategic and Sustainable Infrastructure Indian Institute of Technology Jammu in collaboration with Indian Concrete Institute, J&K Centre.
Dr. Rahul Sharma, presented the research paper titled “Influence of Waste Copper Slag as Fine Aggregate on the Carbonation of Self Compacting Concrete. The study investigates the utilization of waste copper slag as a partial replacement of fine aggregate in self-compacting concrete (SCC) and evaluates its influence on carbonation resistance, a key durability parameter affecting reinforced concrete structures.
The research highlights that the effective use of industrial waste materials such as copper slag not only enhances the durability performance of concrete but also contributes to environmental sustainability by reducing natural sand consumption and promoting waste reutilization. The findings are expected to benefit the construction industry by encouraging the adoption of eco-friendly and durable concrete technologies.
The paper attracted significant attention from international researchers and professionals working in the field of sustainable construction materials, leading to meaningful academic discussions and knowledge exchange. Dr. Sharma thanked Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Pragati Kumar for giving the permission to present the work at international conference.
