Faculty and staff members from the School of Mechanical Engineering, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), have completed a two-week training program on CNC machines at IIT Jammu. The participants, including Dr. Amit Sinha, Dr. Pareep Kumar, Dr. Deepak Byotra, Mr. Arjun Kotwal, Mr. Chandan Sharma, Mr. Sunil Mehra and Mr. Kewal Krishan, gained hands-on experience in CNC machining, a crucial skill in modern manufacturing. The training, conducted under the guidance of Dr. Akash Subhash Awale, Mr. Arun Kumar, Mr. Neeraj Kumar, Mr. Arul Benedict, and Mr. Harish Bhardwaj from IIT Jammu, is expected to significantly enhance the teaching and research capabilities. The knowledge gained will be disseminated to students, enabling them to stay updated with industry trends. Dr. Yathesth Anand, Head, SoME, appreciated the effort, stating that it will have a positive impact on the academic and research environment. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Pragati Kumar, congratulated the members on their successful completion, emphasizing the importance of skill enhancement.
