The Indian Institute of Technology, Jammu (IIT Jammu) and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation in academic, research, and training programmes. The MoU aims to establish a framework for collaboration between the two institutions in areas including Joint Doctoral Degree Program (JDP), joint research projects, joint supervision of research scholars, sharing of laboratories, and organization of conferences, workshops, and training programs. The MoU was signed between Prof. Manoj Singh Gaur (Director, IIT, Jammu) and Prof. Pragati Kumar (Vice Chancellor, SMVDU) in presence of Mr. Ajay Kumar Sharma, Registrar, Prof. A. K. Das, Dean, R&D, Prof. Kumud Ranjan Jha, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Balbir Singh, Dean, Academic Affairs, Prof. Sunil Wanchoo, Dean Faculty of Sciences, Prof. Yugal Khajuria, Dean, Alumni and International Affairs, Dr. Amitabh Dwivedi, Dean, FoHSS, Dr. Sanjeev Anand, Associate Dean, R&D from SMVDU and Prof. Anurag Mishra, Dean, Planning and Management, Dr. Ankit Kathuria, Dean, Corporate Relations and MoUs, Dr.Angshuman Kapil, Associate Dean, International Relations and MoUs from IIT, Jammu. In addition to the MoU, an agreement was also signed between the two institutions to start Joint Doctoral Degree Program (JDP) in which a joint Ph.D. degree shall be awarded to the candidate after successful completion of the programme. Both the institutions agreed to start the JDP from the forthcoming semester.
