SMVDU: The NSS team at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) has initiated a week-long campus plantation drive, aiming to plant 2,500 saplings of various species across the university campus. This initiative, supported by a project led by Mr. Deeraj, Director of NGO Grow-Trees.com, in association with the Wildlife Conservation Fund Jammu & Kashmir and Eco-Watch, underscores the broader community effort in promoting environmental conservation.

The event commenced with a welcome address by NSS Programme Coordinator Dr. Rajiv Kumar, who provided an overview of the plantation drive’s objectives. Dr. Kumar emphasized the importance of this initiative in fostering ecological balance and encouraging community involvement.

The event was graced by the presence of Prof. R.K. Mishra, Dean of Student Welfare, Prof. Balbir Singh, Dean of Academic Affairs, Mr. Neeraj Gupta (JKAS), Finance Officer, Dr. Varun Dutta, NCC Coordinator, and Dr. Kamaldeep, Assistant Professor at SMVDU, along with other faculty and staff members. Their participation reinforced the collective commitment of the university’s leadership to this environmental cause. Notably, Ar.
