Welcome to SMVDU Skill Hub Center

The Skill Hub Center SMVDU is recognized under the National Skill Development Corporation and J&K Skill Development Mission in imparting various schemes under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Govt. of India. This recognition reflects our commitment to empowering youth and enhancing their employment prospects by bridging the gap between aspiring individuals and the demands of emerging sectors.

The Skill Hub Centre will offer a diverse range of courses tailored to emerging sectors. These sectors have been identified for their growth potential and demand for skilled professionals. The curriculum for each course is aligned with the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF). The targeted participants for the Skill Hub Centre include students of SMVDU, alumni, young graduates, and individuals who are out of education.

The Skill Hub Centre will facilitate Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) 4.0 focusing on industry-relevant skills to develop a workforce that meets current market demands. This initiative aims to equip youth with the practical skills and knowledge required for various industries, ensuring they are job-ready and capable of contributing effectively to the economy.

The SMVDU Skill Hub Centre also facilitates the PM Vishwakarma Scheme. This initiative aims to support and enhance the skills of traditional artisans and craftsmen by providing them with specialized training, resources, and financial assistance. The Scheme aims at providing several benefits to the Vishwakarmas, who are either self-employed or intend to set up their own small-scale ventures. By incorporating the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, the Skill Hub Centre expands its reach and impact, supporting a wider range of skill development initiatives and contributing to the preservation and enhancement of traditional crafts.

The Skill Hub Centre at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) in Katra is a platform to promote the various schemes of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Govt. of India. The Skill Hub Centre aims to bridge the gap between aspirants and the demands of emerging sectors by offering industry-relevant training. The centre offers a range of courses in emerging sectors, aligned with the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF). Courses Benefits under PMKVY 4.0

The courses offered at the Skill Hub Centre are absolutely free of cost. Upon completion, participants receive nationally recognized certifications aligned with the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF), boosting their credentials. Training Benefits under PM Vishwakarma

  1. Training Stipend:

    • (i) Each beneficiary is eligible to receive a training stipend of Rs. 500 per day while undergoing the Basic and Advanced Training programs.
    • (ii) The training stipend will be credited to the beneficiary’s bank account through DBT mode after the completion of training and certification by MSDE.
  2. Toolkit Incentive:

    • A toolkit incentive of Rs. 15,000 will be provided to the beneficiary after Skill Verification at the start of Basic Training.
  3. Credit Support:

    • (i) Under PM Vishwakarma, financial support will be provided to the targeted beneficiaries in the form of collateral-free ‘Enterprise Development Loans’.
    • (ii) The total quantum of loan assistance would be Rs. 3,00,000, wherein beneficiaries can avail the first loan tranche up to Rs. 1,00,000 and the second loan tranche up to Rs. 2,00,000.

Eligibility Criteria

Our courses are open to all candidates who meet the following eligibility criteria:
  1. Participants must be between 15 and 45 years old.
  2. The candidate must be a citizen of India.

By meeting these criteria, participants can take advantage of the free courses and resources offered at the Skill Hub Centre to enhance their skills and career prospects.

Documents Required for Enrollment

  1. Identity Proof: Aadhar Card, Passport, Voter ID, or any other government-issued ID.
  2. Educational Certificates: 10th or 12th standard (optional).
  3. Passport-sized Photographs: Recent passport-sized photographs as specified by the center (usually 2-4).
  4. Any Other Documents: As requested by the center.

These documents are necessary to verify eligibility and ensure proper enrollment in the courses offered at the Skill Hub Centre.

Placement Assistance

The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) will facilitate Rozgar Melas (job fairs) at various skill hub centre across India to support the placement of participants.

Certification at the Skill Hub Centre

Upon successful completion of the courses offered at the Skill Hub Centre, participants receive certifications aligned with the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF), ensuring they are recognized and valued across India. Participants receive these certificates upon meeting all course requirements, including final assessments at the end of the course. The assessment is conducted by a third-party agency appointed by the Government of India.
