The School of Computer Science and Engineering at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) has initiated a comprehensive Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Machine Learning for Business Intelligence” in collaboration with the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (MMTTC), SMVDU. The program aims to equip faculty members with advanced skills and knowledge in leveraging machine learning techniques for enhancing business intelligence practices. The event has garnered enthusiastic participation not only from various states across India but also from international delegates keen on exploring the intersection of machine learning and business intelligence. The inauguration ceremony, graced by esteemed dignitaries, commenced with the Chief Guest, Prof. Pragati Kumar, Vice Chancellor of SMVDU, delivering the opening address. Prof. Kumar emphasized the significance of integrating cutting-edge technologies like machine learning into academia to foster innovation and meet the demands of the rapidly evolving business landscape. Dr. Sakshi Arora, the coordinator of the event, provided an overview of the FDP’s objectives and curriculum, highlighting its emphasis on practical applications and hands-on learning experiences. She underscored the importance of continuous professional development for faculty members to stay abreast of emerging trends in the field of business intelligence. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Suparn K. Sharma, Director UGC-MMTTC, SMVDU, expressed his appreciation for the collaboration between SMVDU and MMTTC in organizing such crucial events. Dr. Sharma emphasized the pivotal role of faculty development programs in enhancing the quality of education and research outcomes. Prof. Kumud Ranjan Jha, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, reiterated the significance of organizing events like this FDP, emphasizing their role in bridging the gap between academia and industry. The organizing team, comprising of Dr. Sakshi Arora, Dr. Sonika Gupta, Dr. Sunanda and Mr. Sudesh Kumar worked tirelessly to ensure the smooth execution of the program.
