One-Day Workshop on Expert Talks about UBA Activities at SMVDU

SMVDU: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) successfully conducted a one-day online workshop on Expert Talks about Unnat Bharat Abhiyaan (UBA) Activities for students enrolled in the value-added subject Community Engagement and Social Responsibility. The workshop was organized by the UBA Cell, SMVDU, in collaboration with IIT Jammu (Regional Coordinator) and IIT Delhi (National Coordinator), under the aegis of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, a flagship program of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, in alignment with the guidelines of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Dr. Nalin Kumar Sharma and Mrs. Jyoti Kaul from the UBA Cell, IIT Jammu, delivered insightful talks on the scope and objectives of UBA. They emphasized the need to develop necessary mechanisms and ensure proper coordination among educational institutions, implementation agencies (District Administration/Panchayati Raj Institutions), and grassroots-level stakeholders for effective intervention at the field level. The speakers elaborated on how UBA aims to harness the potential of higher educational institutions to address rural development challenges, ensuring holistic growth and sustainable progress.

The workshop was successfully coordinated by Dr. Bharat Bhushan Jindal as coordinator UBA, SMVDU, and faculty coordinators Dr. Anil Bhardwaj and Dr. Amit Kumar Sinha, Ar. Vinod Kumar, and Dr. Sunny Kumar Sharma, supported by an enthusiastic team of student coordinators. The event provided a platform for students to gain a deeper understanding of UBA’s mission and explore avenues for meaningful community engagement.

The workshop concluded with an interactive session, where students actively participated in discussions, reflecting their keen interest in contributing to societal development through UBA initiatives. SMVDU remains committed to fostering social responsibility among students and strengthening its collaboration with national institutions for impactful community engagement.
