MMTTC-SMVDU Effectively Conducts 15th Faculty Development Program On NEP-2020

Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) conducted 8 days Online Training Program on National Education Policy (NEP)-2020 Orientation & Sensitization under the UGC-Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (MMTTC). The program saw enthusiastic participation from Faculty Members across the country with 200 faculty members registered on the official portal UGC-MMTTC. The program was inaugurated by Prof. Supran K. Sharma, Director, MMTTC-SMVDU; Prof. Sharada M. Potukuchi, Deputy Director, MMTTC -SMVDU; Prof. Raghvendra K. Mishra, Coordinator of the Program and Dr. Tirumalasetty Chiranjeevi, Co-Coordinator of the Program, who stressed the importance of implementation of NEP 2020 in India’s higher education system. Prof. Sharma emphasized upon the participating Faculty Members to embrace its comprehensive, encompassing and multidisciplinary perspective and also implement the ideas shared by the resource persons in their day-to-day teaching methodology. Prof. Raghvendra K. Mishra shared his experiences regarding the evolving nature of teacher training programs in terms of enhancing academic leadership abilities and fostering institutional excellence. 

Eminent Resource Persons who conducted the insightful sessions included Prof. N. V. Ramana Rao, Director, NIT Raipur; Prof. Nazir Ahmed Nazir, Director, MMTTC, University of Kashmir; Prof. Parmod Kumar, Director- MMTTC, Central University of Haryana; Dr. Soni Tiwari, Assistant Director of MMTTC, Ranchi University; Dr. Reetesh Sah, Deputy Director, MMTTC, Kumaun University; Prof. Mushtaq Ahmad Darzi, Dean, School of Business Studies, University of Kashmir; Prof. Sharada M. Potukuchi, Deputy Director, MMTTC, SMVDU; Prof. Sumeet Gupta, SMVDU; Prof. Binoy Krishna Roy, NIT Silchar; Prof. Thodeti Sharonrajut, Andhra University, Dr. Rajeeb Dey, NIT Silchar; Dr. Awadhesh Kumar, Madan Mohan Malviya University of Technology, Gorakhpur; Dr. Munmun Khanra, NIT Silchar; Prof. Ankush Anand, SMVDU; Prof. Sanjay Sharma, JECRC University, Jaipur; Dr. Joginder Singh Saklani, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla; besides the team members from SMVDU. 

The general topics outlined by UGC for the NEP-2020 were the focus of the intensive academic sessions organized, such as, Holistic and Multidisciplinary Education, Indian Knowledge Systems, Academic Leadership, Governance and Management, Higher Education and Society, Research and Development, Skill Development, Student Diversity and Inclusive Education and Information & Communication Technology enhanced the knowledge of faculty members who were participated from Various  State Universities, Deemed to be Universities, Private Universities, Institutions of National Importance, Colleges and other Higher Education Institutions across India.

The participants from distinguished universities/ colleges were specifically selected from different parts of the country to articulate the need for imparting the training and skills to Faculty Members for the smooth and successful implementation of NEP-2020 at their respective institutions. A vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Tirumalasetty Chiranjeevi, who thanked Prof. (Dr.) Pragati Kumar, Vice Chancellor, SMVDU, for his constant support and guidance. He also thanked Sh. Ajay Kumar Sharma, Registrar and Sh. Neeraj Gupta,  Finance Officer, for their cooperation and help in organizing such programs at the University. Special thanks were extended to all participants from across the nation, with many presenting their findings online, emphasizing the initiative’s broad scope and impact. Other Members of SMVDU-MMTTC included Prof. Sharada M. Potukuchi, Prof. Raghvendra K. Mishra, Prof. Ankush Anand, Dr. Anil Bharadwaj, Dr. Sunanda, Dr. Kamaldeep, Dr. Pabitra Jena and Staff Members of the organizing committee of MMTTC-SMVDU who also assisted in smooth conduct and successful execution of the Program.
