Government Polytechnic Reasi Students Visit School of Mechanical Engineering, SMVDU for Academic Exposure

SMVDU:  Students from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Government Polytechnic Reasi, visited the School of Mechanical Engineering (SoME) at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) for an enriching academic exposure tour.

The students were warmly welcomed by the faculty members of SoME, SMVDU, led by Dr. Yatheshth Anand, Head of the School of Mechanical Engineering. Dr. Anand addressed the students, underscoring the importance of hands-on learning, research, and innovative thinking in mechanical engineering. He encouraged the students to pursue their academic journeys with curiosity and a drive for practical solutions to real-world problems.

The visit was coordinated by Dr. Ankush Raina, Assistant Professor at SoME, who ensured the smooth conduct of the event and guided the students through various activities and demonstrations. Dr. Raina provided insights into the research initiatives at SoME and explained how students could benefit from such exposure to cutting-edge technologies.

The Training and Placement Officer of SMVDU, Mr. B. K. Bhatia, also addressed the students, emphasizing the need for continuous skill development to meet industry demands. He discussed career opportunities, industry trends in automation, robotics, and renewable energy, and the importance of internships and certifications to enhance employability.

The students toured SoME’s state-of-the-art laboratories and research facilities, where faculty members demonstrated advanced mechanical engineering equipment and ongoing projects. The interactive sessions gave the students practical insights into the application of theoretical concepts learned in classrooms.

Er. Mohd. Shabir, Sr. Lecturer, Govt. Polytechnic, Reasi; stressed on the productive exchange of ideas, inspiring the students to explore innovative projects and consider higher education in mechanical engineering. Faculty members from both institutions expressed a strong desire for continued collaboration to support student growth and academic excellence.

This initiative highlights SMVDU’s commitment to fostering technical education and providing students with the exposure needed to succeed in a rapidly advancing field.
