Fit India Fredoom Run 2.0 was organized at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University campus under the aegis of the Fit India Movement.The event was a part of a nationwide fitness campaign launched by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in the ongoing “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”, the celebration of 75 years of Indian independence.
The aim of the event was to create awareness among the citizens to include at least half an hour of physical activity in their daily routine with the motto “FITNESS KA DOSE AADHA GHANTA ROZ”. More than 40 members spanning faculty, staff and their family members participated in the run conducted at the University campus this morning.
The run was followed by an exercise session and pledge by the participants to devote half an hour daily for physical exercise. The event was a result of constant motivation by Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Padam Shri Prof. Ravindra Kumar Sinha and the able guidance of Registrar Sh. Nagendra Singh Jamwal (JKAS). The run was organized by the sports wing of the university under the supervision of Mr. Parvez Singh Slathia, Incharge Sports & Nodal Officer, Fit India Movement, SMVDU. The run and exercise sessions were conducted by Mr. Balbir Singh and Mr. Sumit Sharma, Sports coaches.
