The School of Mathematics at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra, organized an online Invited Talk titled “Research Methodology for Mathematical Sciences” on 30th Oct, 25 as part of the PM-USHA Scheme. Dr. Manoj Sharma, an Associate Professor from the Department of Mathematics at RJIT, BSF Academy Tekanpur, Gwalior, was the invited speaker. In his presentation, he explored various stages of research methodology pertinent to conducting research in both pure and applied mathematics. He emphasized the significance of collaboration in research efforts. Additionally, he encouraged students to participate in research groups relevant to their interests. He shared insights from his own research in fractional calculus, along with several unresolved problems within that field. In particular, he addressed the use of fractional calculus in drone technology, a project he and his students are working on their drone research laboratory. The lecture was indeed very engaging. Attendance included all faculty members from the School, as well as those from other departments, in addition to research students from SMVDU, the University of Jammu, and the Central University of Jammu. The organizing secretary, Dr. Sandeep Bhougal, Assistant Professor, introduced the speaker and welcomed participants. Dr. Abhishek Singh, Associate Professor and Organizing Secretary at the School of Mathematics, expressed gratitude on behalf of the team. Dr. Sandeep Sharma and Dr. Vivek Kumar also assisted as organizing secretaries.Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Associate Professor and Head of the School of Mathematics, who coordinated the event, expressed thanks to everyone for their participation. Heencouraged the speaker to visit SMVDU in person for future lectures.
