A contingent of 34 B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) students from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) participated in the prestigious AI Summit 2026 held in New Delhi from 16th to 20th February 2026. The educational and exposure visit was aimed at providing students with first-hand insights into cutting-edge developments and real-world applications in the rapidly evolving field of Artificial Intelligence.
The student delegation was accompanied by Mr. Sudesh and Mr. Abhigya Mahajan, Assistant Professors from the School of Computer Science and Engineering (SoCSE), along with Ms. Madhu, staff member, who mentored and guided the students throughout the summit.
The delegation was formally flagged off by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Pragati Kumar, who extended his full support and encouragement to the students. Addressing the gathering, he highlighted the importance of industry exposure and urged students to actively engage in learning, networking, and knowledge exchange during the summit. He conveyed his best wishes for a productive and enriching academic experience.
The visit was meticulously organized under the guidance of Dr. Sunanda, Head of SoCSE, who played a pivotal role in coordinating the academic tour and ensuring its smooth execution. The seamless logistical arrangements and coordination for the visit were made possible through the relentless efforts of Mr. Joginder Paul Sharma, Public Relations Officer (PRO), SMVDU, whose dedicated support significantly contributed to the successful organization of the event.
AI Summit 2026 is regarded as one of the most prominent technology events of the year, bringing together industry leaders, researchers, innovators, startups, and academicians from across the globe. The summit featured keynote addresses by renowned experts, technical sessions, panel discussions, startup showcases, and interactive networking opportunities. Key focus areas included Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Generative AI, Robotics, and emerging intelligent systems, offering participants valuable insights into future industry trends and innovations.
Dean Academics, Prof. Balbir Singh, also extended his best wishes to the students, encouraging them to gain meaningful academic and professional exposure from the summit. Mr. Manoj Verma from SoCSE was present during the flag-off ceremony and motivated the students to utilize this opportunity to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements.
