Successful Conclusion of Student Induction Program 2025 at SMVDU

Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) has successfully concluded its Student Induction Program (SIP) 2025, which was designed to motivate and inspire new students through expert talks, interactive sessions, and activities that foster overall development. Held over two weeks on the SMVDU campus, the induction aimed to guide students toward personal growth, professional success, and well-being. The program began with an insightful talk titled “Master Your Mind for Success, Happiness & Harmony” which emphasized the importance of mental clarity and emotional balance in reaching both academic and personal goals. Another key session focused on the Drug Menace, examining substance abuse risks and prevention strategies. This was followed by a lecture on “Eating Smart for Academic Success” highlighting how healthy eating promotes physical health and mental well- being. An industry expert’s talk on the Entrepreneur Journey was particularly inspiring, encouraging engineering students to explore opportunities in entrepreneurship. A series of lectures on “Universal Human Values” helped students understand the importance of ethics, empathy, and personal integrity, which are crucial for living a balanced and meaningful life. Mr. B.K. Bhatia, the Training and Placement officer at SMVDU, shared important insights on “Placement Opportunities” and advised students on how to prepare for their careers from the start. Students also gained understanding about the “Role and Life of NCC” (National Cadet Corps), highlighting the importance of discipline, leadership, and national service. In addition to intellectual engagements, the induction program featured daily Yoga Sessions and Sports Activities to ensure that students maintain a healthy body-mind balance. The SIP concluded with a well-received lecture by Wing Commander Amit Khullar, emphasizing the various opportunities available to aspiring Engineering and Non Engineering students in the Indian Air Force. Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Pragati Kumar spoke to the students, praised the organizers of the Student Induction Program, and assured them of full support throughout their academic journey at SMVDU. Dean of Academic Affairs and Chairman of the Student Induction Program, Prof. Balbir Singh, urged students to maximize the use of available resources and opportunities at SMVDU. Dr. Bharat Bhushan Jindal (Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, Engineering), Dr. Shafa Rasool (Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, Non-Engineering), and Dr. Madhu Mangal Chaturvedi, together with faculty coordinators and student volunteers, organized the SIP. Dr. Pooja Sharma, Associate Professor, offered the vote of thanks, thanking the experts, faculty, and students for contributing to the program’ssuccess. SMVDU is dedicated to developing well-rounded individuals, and the Student Induction Program 2025 has established a strong foundation for incoming students to start their journey of academic success and personal growth.
