SMVDU: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) welcomed a group of students from the Government Higher Secondary School, Chiryai (Zone Tikri), as part of its ongoing outreach program aimed at promoting higher education among young learners. Approximately 100 students, both boys and girls, along with their teachers, participated in the visit. It aimed to increase awareness and inspire students about opportunities in higher education.
National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers accompanied the school delegation, provided support and guidance throughout their visit. Dr. Rajiv Kumar, NSS Programme Coordinator and Dr. Varun Dutta, NCC Coordinator, welcomed the students and offered an insightful introduction to SMVDU, highlighting its various academic and infrastructural facilities.
Workshop Superintendent Er. Deepak Byotra and central workshop staff gave students a tour of the central workshop, sharing insights on the technical facilities and resources available for practical training. The students also had the opportunity to explore the university’s Network Centre, Central Library, and Matrika Auditorium. Each visit showcased the university’s commitment to providing a robust and holistic environment for higher education.
Throughout the day, students were encouraged to consider the benefits of pursuing further education following their Class 12 studies. The experience aimed to motivate students by showing them the value and opportunities that higher educational institutions offer.
At the conclusion of the event, teachers from the visiting school expressed their gratitude to the SMVDU authorities for organizing the visit, which they described as an inspiring and enriching experience for the students.
