SMVDU Faculty presented paper in ‘The 2024 RCEA International Conference’ at Brunel University, London.

Dr. Kakali Majumdar, from School of Economics, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University presented a paper in ‘The 2024 RCEA International Conference on Economics, Econometrics and Finance’ at Brunel University, London, during 20-22 May 2024.

The title of the paper presented by Dr. Kakali Majumdar was “Sustainable Trade Practices in E7 countries: Revisiting Pollution Haven Hypothesis”. The paper delves into the delicate balance between economic development and environmental sustainability in countries vulnerable to climate change impacts, with specific focus on E7 countries namely India, Indonesia, Mexico, Russia, People’s Republic of China, Brazil and Turkey, that demonstrate robust economic prowess within the emerging economies category. The Bibliometric analysis of the paper and explanation of the findings in terms of the theoretical base of Pollution Haven and Pollution Halo Hypothesis were highly appreciated in this international platform.

Delegates all around the globe participated in the conference. Keynote addresses delivered by distinguished faculties from Harvard, Oxford, London School of Economics and other reputed institutions, made this conference a great learning experience. Around 280 papers were presented in 99 technical sessions of this three days international Conference.
