SMVDU Team Qualifies for BAJA SAEINDIA 2025 Final Round

SMVDU: Team CRAWLERS from SAE Club Under Board of Professional Activities of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University has made a significant impact at the BAJA SAEINDIA 2025 Round-I, held on 20th July, 2024. Competing in the eBAJA category, the team outperformed numerous returning teams, demonstrating remarkable prowess and innovation. Pertinently, SMVDU’s team is the only team from Jammu & Kashmir to participate in the final round of BAJA SAEINDIA 2025.

The BAJA SAEINDIA competition, known for its rigorous standards and intense competition, challenges teams to design, build, and race an off-road vehicle that can withstand the harshest terrains. The presentation round, a critical component of the competition, evaluates teams on their design, research, and overall strategy.The CRAWLERS’ outstanding performance is a reflection of their months of hard work, meticulous planning, and innovative thinking. The team, comprised of final-year engineering students, demonstrated not only technical proficiency but also a deep understanding of the principles of sustainable engineering, which is crucial in the eBAJA category focusing on electric vehicles.

Dr. Mir Irfan Ul Haq, Assistant Professor, SME and Dr. Ankush Raina ,Assistant Professior, SME, the faculty advisors for the CRAWLERS, expressed immense pride in the team’s accomplishments. “This is a phenomenal achievement for our students. Competing against experienced teams and securing a high score in the presentation round speaks volumes about their capabilities and commitment. We are excited to see how they perform in the upcoming rounds.”

Team leader Mr. Divyansh Kale, highlighted the team’s journey, stating, “Our journey to the BAJA SAEINDIA 2025 has been challenging yet rewarding. Our score in the presentation round is a reflection of our team’s synergy and relentless effort. We are motivated to push our boundaries further and excel in the main event.”

With their eyes set on the finals, the CRAWLERS from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University are poised to make even greater strides in the BAJA SAEINDIA 2025 competition, inspiring future engineers and reinforcing the university’s commitment to excellence in engineering education. Prof. Pragati Kumar (Vice Chancellor, SMVDU) conveyed his best wishes for the upcoming rounds and congratulated the team for their success. Dr. Yathesth Anand (Head, SME) also congratulated the team.
