Grow-Trees Delegation from Mumbai Reviews Survival of Saplings Planted under “Meri Maati Mera Desh” Campaign at SMVDU Campus

A delegation from Grow-Trees, hailing from the city of Mumbai and led by Mr. Ronak Jariwala, Head of Projects & Finance, Grow-Trees, made a notable visit to the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) campus to monitor the progress of 300 saplings previously planted by their team under the campaign “Meri Maati Mera Desh”. The “Meri Maati Mera Desh” campaign was led by their Director, Mr. Deeraj from the Grow Green Katra project, (J&K Eco Watch), showed real progress in making the campus greener. The visit served as a testament to the enduring collaboration between the two entities in fostering environmental sustainability and green initiatives.

Upon arrival, the delegation was warmly welcomed by Dr. Rajiv Kumar, NSS Coordinator, and Dr. Varun Dutta, Assistant Professor at SMVDU, who provided insights into the university’s steadfast commitment to environmental conservation and afforestation efforts.

During the inspection, the Grow-Trees team expressed admiration for the remarkable growth observed among the 300 saplings, indicating a robust survival rate. Mr. Ronak Jariwala, accompanied by the team’s auditor, lauded the collaborative efforts of SMVDU and Grow-Trees in nurturing a thriving green ecosystem within the campus premises.

Dr. Rajiv Kumar and Dr. Varun Dutta further briefed the delegation on the comprehensive sustainability initiatives undertaken by SMVDU, emphasizing the importance of such endeavors in fostering ecological balance and environmental stewardship.
