Workshop on “Virtual Labs” Successfully Conducted by at SMVDU in Collaboration with IIT Roorkee

The School of Electronics & Communication Engineering (SoECE) at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), successfully conducted a two-day workshop on “Virtual Labs,”. The workshop was organized in collaboration with the IIT  Roorkee, as part of the initiative by the Ministry of Education under the National Mission on Education through ICT. Virtual Labs, a flagship project of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, aims to elevate the standards of laboratory and practical training offered to Engineering and Science students across the nation. Leveraging internet and communication technologies, Virtual Labs provide an innovative platform for students to conduct experiments remotely, thereby enhancing their learning experiences in engineering and sciences. The workshop aimed to educate students and faculty members about the vast potential and benefits of Virtual Labs in academia. Participants had the opportunity to engage in hands-on sessions, demonstrations, and discussions led by experts from IIT Roorkee, who provided insights into utilizing Virtual Labs effectively in teaching and learning processes. We are delighted to have successfully conducted this workshop in collaboration with IIT Roorkee,” said Dr. Anil Bhardwaj, Head of SoECE at SMVDU. “Virtual Labs represent a paradigm shift in laboratory education, and we believe that this workshop has empowered our participants to harness the full potential of this technology.” The workshop was coordinated by Dr. Vikram Singh and Dr. Neeraj Tripathi from SoECE, SMVDU, who played instrumental roles in ensuring the smooth execution of the event. The workshop saw enthusiastic participation from students, staff, and faculty members from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi, who are keen on incorporating Virtual Labs into their curriculum. The event provided a unique opportunity for attendees to explore the possibilities of Virtual Labs in education and gain practical insights into its implementation.
