SMVDU in collaboration with JKSTIC, Udhampur organised a One-Day Awareness Program on Clean and Green Energy Technologies

School of Energy Management, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra, a leading educational institution and promoter for sustainability and environmental conservation organised a one-day awareness program focused on clean and green energy technologies in collaboration with the Department of Science & Technology, JKSTIC, Udhampur. The primary objective of this initiative is to educate individuals and communities about the latest advancements and innovations in clean energy technologies, with a specific emphasis on their role in mitigating climate change and promoting a more sustainable future. In his keynote address, Prof. Pragati Kumar, Vice Chancellor, SMVDU highlighted the steps taken by SMVDU in organizing high quality awareness programmes, workshops and conferences. He stressed that such events help in broadening the knowledge base of the participants. Prof. Pragati Kumar highlighted various aspects of Clean and Green Energy Technologies. He said that this awareness program will make all of us understand the need for clean energy, sustainable development and spread awareness and knowledge among the participants and society. Ms. Shruti Khanna District Coordinator JKSTIC highlighted the major initiatives and activities undertaken by DST, J&K. In her address, she expressed the event’s objective to encourage the young minds across and hoped they would be role models with a particular emphasis on promoting Green Energy for Sustainable Development. Dr. Ankit Tyagi, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT, Jammu laid emphasis on super capacitors for electric vehicles. He stressed on the new advancements in materials for reliability of electric vehicles.

 

Mr. Arjun Maini, Managing Director, Maini Industries, Jammu delivered a lecture on the aspect of clean energy and its environmental benefits as part of a global energy future. Renewable resources also preserve the world’s natural resources and also reduce the risk of environmental disasters. Mr. Himanshu Malpotra, Assistant Manager, GERMI deliberated on policy and regulatory framework. He discussed various Govt. Policies regarding Solar Rooftop power plants. Dr. Vineet Veer Tyagi, Head, School of Energy Management and Dean R&D highlighted the initiatives taken by School of Energy Management for climate change mitigation. “By bringing together experts, stakeholders, and members of the public, we hope to inspire collective action and drive positive change in our communities”. Dr. Sanjeev Anand, Associate Dean R&D and Coordinator of the programme in his welcome address explained about the schedule of the awareness programme and stressed upon the need for the same. By organizing the awareness program in collaboration with the Department of Science & Technology, JKSTIC, Udhampur, we aim to empower individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to embrace renewable energy solutions and reduce their carbon footprint. “We believe that raising awareness about clean and green energy technologies is essential for accelerating the transition to a low-carbon future,” added Dr.Yatheshth Anand, Assistant Professor, and coordinator of the workshop. The inaugural function of the event was attended by Deans and Heads of different schools. The formal vote of thanks was delivered by Ar. Navin Gupta, Assistant Professor, School of Architecture and Landscape Design, SMVD University.
