For imparting practical knowledge and understanding of mechanical engineering concepts, School of Mechanical Engineering, SMVD University in association with Training and Placement Cell organized an industrial visit to a M/s Kashmir Steel Rolling Mill, Bari Brahamana, Jammu for the students of B.Tech. and M.Tech. The Kashmir Steel Rolling Mills is ISO 9001 & 14000 certified company producing the largest manufactures of TMT Bars in J&K State. Under the guidance of Dr. Balbir Singh, and Dr. Sanjay Mohan, faculty members, students were given a rare opportunity to witness the complete rolling process from Steel ingots to TMT bars including packaging, maintenance and testing section. Staff members Mr. Arjun Kotwal, Mr Sudesh Kumar and Mr. Ankil Kumar also accompanied students for the visit. Dr. Eswarmoorthy M, Head, School of Mechanical Engineering thanked Mr. BK Bhatia, Training & Placement Officer, and M/s Kashmir Steel rolling Milling for arranging useful visit for the students, faculty and staff members of Mechanical Engineering.
