SMVDU, Students Participate in Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen Orientation Program

On June 9^th, 2023, interns from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra, actively took part in a One-Day Orientation program organized by the Directorate of Rural Sanitation of Jammu and Kashmir. The event, held at the PWD Guest House in Gandhinagar, Jammu, aimed to familiarize the participants with the objectives and relevance of the internship. The following students from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University participated in the program:Tanish Bawa, Bigan Kumar, Pawan Kumar, Anshu Kumar, Pooja Tomar, Neha Sharma, Amit Kumar, Anil Sharma, Dhruv, Harvanshi Verma. During the program, the students received information about the internship’s objectives and significance through various audio-visual modes. The chief guest of the occasion was Sh. Charandeep Singh, the Director of Rural Sanitation, Jammu. Distinguished speakers emphasized the importance of the ODF (Open Defecation Free) Plus mission of the Government of India, which focuses on waste management, water conservation, and rural sanitation. The team included Ms. Pooja Tomar, the student coordinator, and Dr. Anil Kumar Tewari, the Nodal Officer of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan at SMVDU.
