Khurshid Ahmed Ganai, IAS (Retd.), Former CIC, SIC, J&K, delivered a talk on “Right to Information for Citizen Empowerment & Good Governance” at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU). This session primarily focused on process for obtaining information by the citizens and the description of the concept of public authority. The session initiated with elaborating the critical role of public information officer and assistant public information officers to smoothly maintain the process of obtaining the information by the citizens.
Mr.Ganai emphasised that the citizen centred governance and citizen’s rights to good governance which have transparency, accountability, corruption free as well as aspire for open government.Prof. R. K. Sinha, Vice Chancellor, SMVDU, appreciated the session conducted by Mr Ganai, and the event witnessed the presence of Sh.NS Jamwal, Registrar, SMVD University, Dr. Suparn Kumar Sharma, Dean, Faculty of Management, faculty and staff members, and students.
