One Week National Level Training Program for IFS Officers Concluded at SMVDU

The School of Business, Faculty of Management, SMVD University conducted a national level training program, entitled ‘Stress, Health and Lifestyle Management’ with the financial support from Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Government of India in which the IFS officers from different parts of the country participated.

During the inaugural function, the Chief Guest, Padma Shri Prof. Ravindra K. Sinha, Vice Chancellor, SMVDU, said that too much expectations lead to increased stress which disrupts mental health and lifestyle. He stated that stress is the fact of life which sometimes comes automatically and sometimes individuals take themselves. Dr. Jyoti Sharma, Program Coordinator, highlighted the potential dangers of stress-silent killer and its ripple effects on health and everyday functioning of individuals.

Dr. Saurabh, Head, School of Business, SMVDU, while extending formal welcome to all the officers and introduced the university to all the officers. Dr. Suparn Kr. Sharma, Dean, Faculty of Management highlighted the series of training programs organised with the funding of Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, GoI in retrospective manner. Prof. Ashok Sharma, Dean, Faculty of Sciences, congratulated the School for organising such kind of training programs. Prof. V.K. Bhat, Dean, Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences appreciated the efforts of School of Business in organisation of this kind of outcome based program.

The interaction with eminent personalities including Sh. Ramesh Kumar, CEO, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Dr. M. Kumar, Regional Wildlife Warden, Jammu were also organised. Besides a panel discussion on improvement in the working of forest departments needed for career development through training and improvement of skills was also organised which was moderated by Dr. Ratna Chandra, Associate Professor, School of Biotechnology, SMVDU. The training program’s pedagogy consists of lecture method, case discussion and analysis, role plays, virtual tours etc. Virtual tours of Wild Life Protection, Jammu, Maharashtra Baomboo Research Centre, J&K, Chirpine Handicrafts, J&K were also really appreciated by the participant officers.
