SMVDU Katra, November 2019. Dr. Sanjay Mohan, Faculty, School of Mechanical Engineering, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra, had participated in a three week workshop on Laser Applications and Manufacturing, organized by the Ministry of China in Wenzhou, China, from 13 to 31 October 2019. Only 20 participants from developing nations were invited for this workshop, and Dr. Mohan represented SMVDU and India. During the workshop, the participants visited various industries and had meetings with the industry and academia officials. The participants also visited the Young Scientist World Summit where officials and academia personnels from more than 100 countries had participated. Noble laureates from different fields also delivered lectures and interacted with the audience. Dr. Mohan elaborated on various facilities and ongoing research in SMVDU. During the summit, various deliberations were held, and an MOU was signed between SMVDU and Yalong Intelligent Equipments Group Co. Ltd. and with Institute of Laser and Optoelectronics Intelligent Manufacturing, Wenzhou, China. The MOU partners assured to carry collaborative research works in the future. Dr. Mohan has also expressed his gratitude to Dr. R.K.Sinha, Vice Chancellor, SMVDU for allowing him to attend the workshop and to represent India and the university.
