SMVDU Katra,14thSept.,18. A TEQIP-III sponsored two-day International Conferenceon “Mechanical Engineering & Allied Sciences” was inaugurated today at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra where Prof. D. Mukhopadhyay, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, was the Chief Guest. The School of Mechanical Engineering took this initiative to provide a platform to international scientists and engineers to share their views and experiences. Prof. Xizhang Chen, Wenzhou University, China and Prof. Sergey Konovalov from Samara National Research University, Russia were the main speakers. Also, Prof. R. Arvind Singh and Prof. S. Jayalakshmi from KCT, Coimbatore, and Dr. R. K. Mishra, Head, School of Mech. Eng. SMVDU addressed the audience. Around 200 participants from the reputed institutes including, Indian Institute of Sciences, Bangalore, IIT Kanpur, IIT Delhi, IIT Ropar, IIT BHU, Thapar Institute of Technology Patiala, etc. participated, as reported by the conveners, Sanjay M. Sharma, Ankush Raina, and Mir Irfan UlHaq. Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sanjeev Jain lauded the efforts put in by the organising team, and welcomed the esteemed guests. The proceedings of the function were carried out by Dr. KaminiPathania of School of Physics. Mir Irfan UlHaq proposed the vote of thanks to participants and co-sponsors, including SMVDN Super Speciality Hospital, Jammu and Kashmir State Power Development Corporation, JK Bank, JK Tourism, CVPP Ltd., MASS INTERNATIONAL, Leh Berry, SMVDU TBIC and DUCOM.
