SMVDU Katra: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Katra organized the Induction Program for the MBA batch of 2017-19 .The Induction Program was a two-day affair. The aim of the Induction Program was to familiarize the new students to the atmosphere of the University. Dr. Sushil Kumar Mehta, Director, School of Business, welcomed the students and gave the students an insight into their journey for next two years through academic briefing. Prof. D. Mukhopadhyay, Dean Faculty of Management, stirred the students for discipline, integrity and hard work for bright future. In his welcome address Dr. Hari Govind Mishra, Program Coordinator urged the students to follow their dreams and always have a positive attitude in life.
The new batch had also the privilege of attending sessions conducted by prominent industry personality Mr. Kapil Agarwal, Vice-President, Whirlpool India. He interacted with the students and shared his business experiences with them. Citing Whirlpool’s philosophy of building talent rather than buying it, he stressed on grooming skills and the need for continual and rigorous exposure to right training at all levels. He candidly put forth that motivation, ability; determination and hard work are the keys to excelling in any industry. Mr. Agarwal also emphasized on developing right attitude, knowledge and skills for an organization. The session was conducted by one of the prominent media personality, Mr. Sumit Awasthi, Deputy Managing Editor, News18India. Mr. Sumit Awasthi is a veteran journalist and a prime time news anchor and one of Hindi journalism’s best known names and a credible face on television. Mr. Awasthi shared his valuable experience with the newcomers and motivated them to pursue their studies with great passion so that they can contribute to the development of the nation. His inspirational message to the students on how to cope adversities in life was highly appreciated. The program concluded with felicitation of prominent speakers. Dr. Hari Govind Mishra delivered vote of thanks.
