Human Genetics Research Group SMVDU, now registered with Genetic Testing Registry, National Institute of Health-USA

Human Genetics Research Group, Coordinated by Dr Swarkar Sharma, Department of Biotechnology, SMVDU has now been enlisted as one of the lab amongst 12 Labs from India on the Genetic Testing Registry platform of National Institute of Health, USA. Worldwide 495 labs are registered on the platform and scope of platform includes providing Patients/researchers/interested the information regarding various Genetic tests available, test’s purpose, methodology, validity, evidence of the test’s usefulness, and laboratory contacts and credentials. The Genetic Testing Registry is also a central location for voluntary submission of genetic test information by providers. The overarching goal of the GTR is to advance the public health and research into the genetic basis of health and disease globally. The aim of the research group, presently working in Research mode, is to provide various genetic tests available and help clinicians of the state in diagnostics, management and treatment of genetic disorders.
