Quality Circle Meeting Held at SMVDU

SMVDU Katra: The Quality Circle (QC) of Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of SMVDU was chaired by the Vice Chancellor Dr. Sanjeev Jain to discuss issues and take necessary steps with an objective of continuous improvement in performance by all departments vis-à-vis the benchmarks set by the university. In order to ensure free, transparent and meaningful engagement of all stakeholders of the university, the Quality Circle was established recently. The main highlights of the meeting were the deliberation upon the university and departmental Vision and Mission along with the Quality Policy, the role of Quality Circle towards periodic sensitization of members through different programs, publicity of the success stories, separate webpage for the Quality Circle, implementation mechanism of ‘problem-cum-suggestion bank’ with an e-version of the same, review of quality circles at each departmental level, rewards in form of letters of appreciation, identification of three best QC Sections/Departments, to quote a few. Among the notable code of conducts of the QC are the work style in a cooperative manner, encouragement of new ideas and practices, maintenance of friendly attitude, strive for enthusiasm, and due acknowledgement of each one’s efforts.

Dean of Students, Dr. Yugal Khajuria raised the issue of obtaining consent from parents before sending the students for any outside event,(i.e) conference/excursion/Seminar/Symposium and also earmarking of a ‘Summer Hostel’ for the students staying back on campus during summers for courses or projects. The same was duly acknowledged by Committee Members. The meeting was attended by Prof. V.K. Bhat, Registrar, Prof. V. Verma, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Prof. D. Mukhopadhyaya Dean Faculty of Management, Dr. Vandhana Sharma, Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Dr. Sumeet Gupta, Dean, Academic Affairs and Dr. Hari Govind Mishra, Director, IQAC and all Heads of the respective Departments and senior staff from administration attended the meeting.
