The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu hosted a group of students from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) on the occasion of the “75th Anniversary of Transistor,” organized by the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society” (CASS). The visit was an opportunity for students to delve into the world of cutting-edge research and innovation. The eminent speakers during the event included Mr. Preet Yadav (Manager Chair, IEEE CASS Delhi chapter), Dr. Yogesh Singh Chauhan (Prof. IIT Kanpur and IEEE EDS UP chapter), and Dr. Santosh Kumar Vishvakarma (Prof. IIT Indore and IEEE CASS MP chapter). The students were introduced to various scientific societies including the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society (CASS) and briefed about the membership benefits of the scientific societies and the cutting-edge 5-nm technology designing in IIT Kanpur labs through videos and presentations. The visit concluded with an engaging Q&A session, during which the SMVDU students had the opportunity to interact with the speakers and seek guidance on pursuing higher education and research in the field of electronics and electrical engineering. The students were thankful to the Head of the Department of Electronics and Communication, Dr. Anil Kumar Bhardwaj for arranging this wonderful visit and to Dr. Vikram Singh (Assistant Professor) for accompanying the students on the trip.
