Research Scholar wins FL Foundation Scholarship Award

Sudershan Gupta and Sh.Satish Gupta a Research Scholar at School of Physics, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra (J&K) got the Fair and Lovely foundation scholarship 2012 at YB Chavan Auditorium, Mumbai on 21st March 2013. Total 225 students all over India were selected for this scholarship and 40 students out of 225 were invited for this award ceremony. She has been selected by the panel of judges through an interview which were held at Lucknow on 8 Feb, 2013. She is the only candidate from J&K who has been facilitated with this award by FAL foundation this year.

Formed in 2003, the Fair & Lovely Foundation aims at female economic empowerment. It aims to achieve this through providing information, resources, inputs and support in the areas of education, career and enterprise. Fair & Lovely, as a brand, stands on the economic empowerment platform and the foundation is an extension of this promise. The award is given to encourage the economic empowerment of the Indian woman through information and resources in the areas of Education, Career and Enterprise.

Fair & Lovely Foundation understands the importance of education for women. The support provided by Fair & Lovely Foundation has helped girls avail opportunities of higher education and acquire skills in appropriate professions thereby carving a path for their future.

The Fair & Lovely Foundation provides scholarships each year for deserving girl students who display an excellent academic track record, as well as social initiative and drive. To date, the Foundation has given out more than 1300 scholarships to deserving applicants. Scholarship is open only to women with Indian citizenship who want to pursue graduation, post graduation and PhD studies from Government Recognized Indian Universities. Scholarship will be awarded solely as per the discretion of the panel of judges.
